Whether you are looking for a stellar breakfast, a quick lunch, or an evening of fine dining Walla Walla has got you covered. With plenty of great options, good food is not hard to come by in the town so nice they named it twice.
Let’s start with breakfast. Walla Walla breakfasts are unbeatable. Whether it’s omelets at Clarette’s, pancakes at Maple Counter, or a breakfast sandwich at Bread Co. you can’t go wrong. What’s more is these restaurants are all within a ten-minute walk of campus so there is no excuse for skipping breakfast at Whitman!
Lunch is tricky. Frankly, there are just too many choices. Sweet Basil offers pizza by the slice (their cheese with ricotta is a must) and made to order calzones. Dora’s offers veggie tacos that were rated the best veggie tacos in the country by the USA Today. And Graze sells a whole host of homemade soups, salads and sandwiches. Picking a favorite is impossible, I’d recommend you try them all.
When it comes to dinner Walla Walla has great variety. However, Thai Ploy is a Whittie favorite. Between their curries and avocado spring rolls, there are no wrong decisions here. If you are looking for something a little spicier, Wingman Birdz + Brewz is another good spot. With a nearly endless of combination of buffalo wings and sauces, this is a great place to grab a bite to eat and watch live sports.
Now, if you are looking for something a little bit more upscale. Say, around parent’s weekend, Walla Walla has got you covered. A personal favorite when Mom and Dad come to town is Saffron. With an ever-changing menu, using local ingredients, this Mediterranean restaurant is a must. T Maccarone’s is another place worth checking out over parent’s weekend. Their truffle oil mac and cheese is served as an appetizer, but I’d recommend it as a main dish. Talk about delicious.
Finally, no list of Walla Walla restaurants would be complete without mentioning Taqueria Mi Pueblito. Commonly referred to as ‘The Taq,’ this Whitman favorite is only a few blocks from campus and has an enormous menu. With made to order burritos, tacos, enchiladas, and more The Taq is the ideal place to grab breakfast, lunch or dinner. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for tater tots in your burrito-trust me!
