Due to popular demand, we are expanding our Whitman Online training sessions. Discover what this massive database containing over 16,000 alumni can offer! Training sessions are mandatory for access to the system.

Wednesday, February 12th — Whitman Internship Program Information Session
4pm – 5pm, Reid G02

Create the internship of your dreams! The Whitman Internship Grant can provide funding to many unpaid summer internship experiences.  Attend this session to learn inside tips on how to design the best application, with an update on international internship funding.

excelMonday, February 24th — Excel Workshop: Basics

Proficiency in Excel is an important skill that is consistently required in professional environments around the world. Brought back by popular demand, this workshop with WCTS lays the foundations of Excel knowledge. Stay tuned for the advanced workshop on March 3rd!

Tuesday, February 25th — Whitties Helping Whitties @ Whitman

How many Whitties work at Whitman? What do they do? How did they get here? What can you learn from them? There is a wealth of professional knowledge and experience right here on campus, so we’re kicking off this semester’s Whitties Helping Whitties at Whitman.

Thursday, February 27th — LinkedIn Workshop: Starting From Scratch

Should you create a LinkedIn profile? 96% of recruiters in this 2013 survey stated that they use LinkedIn to search for potential candidates. Learn more about this valuable professional networking resource in the first of two LinkedIn workshops this semester.

[NEW!] Hanging Out With Whitman Alumni

This semester, the SEC is hosting a series of workshops with Whitman alumni using Google’s video conference application. 


Tuesday, February 11th — Whitties @ Google, Facebook, and Microsoft
12:00pm, RSVP only. Lunch provided.

Snag a spot in this small-group discussion with Whitman alumni who currently work at Google, Facebook and Microsoft. Alumni will connect via Google Hangout to chat with students about their experience as liberal arts graduates working in the technology sector.

This is a unique opportunity to speak with Whitman alumni who work in professional recruiting. How long do they spend reading resumes and cover letters? Do they use LinkedIn? What are the most important skills that they look for in an applicant? Get all these questions answered and more!

How this transition looks to three alumni who study and make it happen! RSVP for lots of advice about how Whitties can increase their success in the professional world.

Senior Class Drop-in Hours

Senior Drop-Ins

The SEC has embarked on a new ambitious program to engage and serve all students in their transition to life after Whitman. During the first half of this semester, we are inviting every member of the senior class into the office for individual sessions. If you are a senior, check your email inbox! Drop-ins will be hosted every Friday afternoon from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.
