WCTS Represented at SIGUCCS 2013

Cate Lyon, Robert Fricke and student help desk manager Jake Gavin presented “Facebook: How We Lost Control and Found Empowerment” at SIGUCCS 2013 in Chicago, Ill.  This presentation highlighted what we did to resolve the desire to engage our student staff to a greater degree within our department and our desire to make the WCTS Facebook presence more timely and relevant. The session was well attended and started many different conversations regarding the rather unorthodox path we chose in achieving our goal to expand communication with Whitman students through social media as well as the pitfalls we discovered along the way.  image
