I’m a junior at Whitman College studying biology on a pre-medicine track. This semester I am going abroad to Chile through the SIT Public Health, Traditional Medicine, and Community Empowerment program. I will be spending most of my time based out of Arica, Chile and traveling around to different parts of the country to learn about the traditional medicine practices and how they have been included in and shaped more modern medical practices.
