BudaCastleMain Square and Baazar was part of our Scavenger Hunt (organized by the lovely staff)
We were separated into 4-5 groups with around 4 members per group( honestly such a good ice breaker), and we had to locate buildings and find mysterious questions about them. My favorite ones were Gellert Hill, Elizabeth’s Bridge and the narrowest house in Budapest. (shown in pictures above)
AIT provided the winner a free pass for an escape room (BREAKING NEWS – I heard ESCAPE ROOMS were invented in Budapest)
Living in Budapest is like being on an endless journey of discovery. This city, with its constant hum of activity and a never-ending list of places to explore, can give you a slight case of FOMO (fear of missing out). Every corner has its own story, and every street its unique charm. After chatting with friends who’ve made Budapest their home for several years, it’s clear that boredom is a concept that doesn’t exist here. They all say, “You’ll never get tired of the city,” and I’m starting to believe them.
One of the most astonishing aspects of Budapest is its all-season appeal to tourists. On a leisurely walk past the Shoes on the Danube Bank memorial, the sight of numerous tourists was a vivid reminder of the city’s magnetic pull. This bustling environment, with its crowded streets and bridges teeming with people from all over the world, quickly becomes part of the city’s irresistible charm.
Budapest shines brightly with its winter attractions, such as the magical ice-skating rinks that offer a picturesque setting, the vibrant Christmas markets that bring joy and color to the cold months, and the heavenly scent of chimney cakes that seems to linger in the air all year round. Yet, it’s the thermal baths that truly capture the essence of Budapest’s allure. These warm, inviting waters are not only a sanctuary for relaxation but also a major draw for those seeking a unique and rejuvenating experience.
As spring approaches, my excitement for the upcoming semester abroad in Budapest grows. I’m eager to dive into the new experiences that await with the change of season, ready to discover what other secrets this vibrant city holds.
Participating in a Scavenger Hunt was an enlightening experience, to say the least. It wasn’t just about having a good time; it was a crash course in Budapest’s tourism scene. I got to uncover all the top spots, figure out which attractions are free or easy to access, and learn the best ways to navigate the city’s treasures. The Scavenger Hunt stands out as an incredibly fun and informative way to get acquainted with Budapest. It’s a must-do for anyone wanting to see the city from a fresh perspective and understand why Budapest is such a beloved destination.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ATTEND SCAVENGERS HUNT IF GIVEN THE CHANCE, BECAUSE THAT IS THE MOST ENTERTAINING TOURISM !!
