Day and Night Life
My days are pretty packed but in the best possible way. I’ve really gotten into meal prepping lately. Sundays are for exploring the local farmer markets, grabbing fresh veggies, and then cooking for the coming days. It’s a fun, relaxing way to get ready for the week, and it means I get to enjoy a taste of Hungary right from my own kitchen. I’ve seriously upped my meal prep game – I’m talking big batches of chili, and stir-fries, and trying to mimic those amazing Hungarian dishes (especially Goulash and pogazca) at home.
But as the sun sets, it’s all about exploring Budapest’s lively side. The ruin bars are an experience – think quirky décor, great music, and an unbeatable atmosphere. And somehow, no matter how late it gets, I always feel safe wandering back home, thanks to the city’s friendly, easy-going vibe.
School trips have been a highlight too. We visited historical sites and even took a dip in one of Budapest’s famous thermal lakes in Heviz. These experiences have given me a deeper appreciation for this beautiful city and its rich history.
Commuting
Commuting to school every day has been an adventure on its own. Budapest’s public transport system is top-notch. I hop on a tram, and it whisks me through the city, offering a glimpse into everyday life here. It’s efficient, reliable, and a great way to see the city.
Safety in Budapest
One thing I’ve been pleasantly surprised about is how safe I feel in Budapest. Walking home from a late-night study session or after a night out, the streets are well-lit, and there’s always a friendly vibe. It’s reassuring to know that I can explore and enjoy all that this city has to offer, day or night, without worry.
Cuisines
And you guys, the food here! Budapest is a melting pot of cuisines. I’ve been all over the map, from gobbling down spicy Hungarian goulash to trying my hand at making sushi rolls (thanks to a cool local class). There’s also this Italian place, “Pasta Bella,” that does pasta to die for, and a hidden gem very close to my apartment where they make the best Gyro plates.
