Past Teaching

This page highlights past classes taught including from my time with the Computing in the Arts (CITA) program at College of Charleston in South Carolina.

These past CITA classes serve as an example of what might in the future be possible in Whitman College’s new Human-Centered Design Concentration.

Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds (CITA 120) – introduction to programming in Python with creative animation projects built with Blender or Maya. Click this link to learn more about this course.

Computing in the Arts Capstone (CITA 395 and 495) – two-course capstone sequence in which each stude3nt proposes and individual project that synthesizes art and computing skills. Each capstone proposal is approved by the course instructor and an arts mentor. Students iteratively refine their design over the course of the capstone though multiple critique sessions with the instructor and art mentor. Final projects are presented to a gathering of CITA faculty and students. Click this link to view a sampling of CITA capstone projects.
